Anyone else seen the new Uncanny?

I'm confused. The art at the beginning is good, but it gets worse as you go on. The last few pictures of NC just make him look bizarre! What is up? I thought the new artist didn't start for a few more issues? Please console me and tell me this isn't what we have to look forward to... Plus, on a writing side, NC is still quite militant boy...

Well just finished. The art did make me miss churchill. But this guy does have some talent and with more time spent can finalize his style better.

I did like how they hinted at Mr Clean being altered, so there is a bit of a reason why he could take down 3 X-Men. But not much of one.

The only part I really didn't like was the Subway fight. Kinda hokey, been there done that, it felt to comic book. "You there... we are evil.... you are good....We must fight!"

The part I really liked was the fact we get to see Wolverine finally not smoking in every panel. I know he has a mutant healing factor and all, but please.

Good points! I just thought the new artist didn't start till after Poptopia, so I was confused. That last NC shot is a little jarring...

Sean Phillips and Mel Rubi are just filling in until Ron Garney takes over on #401. Before that, I think Tom Raney is doing one, and then #400 is being drawn by a bunch of artists, most of whom have pretty eccentric styles. I imagine Phillips drew this issue pretty fast, since Churchill kinda bailed without much notice.

But to make a long story short, no, this is not the new regular artist. The first four pages I saw looked good, though; far more expressive than Churchill, who seems to be technically proficient but wooden.

Glad to hear that! And the first 4 pages are good- it just goes downhill from there! I will ne looking forward to 400...

Looks like we're seeing the beginning of the Supreme Pontiff story (I hate that name! Oh brother!) as these guys are some sort of weird religious group....which will lead to Kurt getting, no doubt, pretty darn ticked off!!

There really wasn't much of Kurt at all in this issue (it was mostly Jono<yawn>)...didn't really like the way Logan took the phone away from him....but going against a religious group will probably = lots o' Kurt in the upcoming months .

I don't know wether to laugh or cry. Just read the issue, and after having seen the artwork, I'll just keep asking myself if anyone take this title seriously nowadays...

I laughed at poor Kurt, no - correction - that isn't Kurt, he can't look like that, certainly not. Oh, why can't the good days come back, those with Excalibur!

I dunno about this.-I rather liked the art. It had humor. Kurt may have been ugly, but he had his grin back. Churchill was just too grave for me...
